PreS-K-Gabby and her cats share what they love in this Valentine's Day board book. The white text discusses what each cat loves doing as a hobby or for others. There is no pressure to express romantic love or kiss frogs, or any other content that would make the book awkward to read at storytime. The cats featured include Pandy Paws, MerCat, Cakey Cat, Kitty Fairy, CatRat, CJ Catnip, and Pillow Cat. The book ends with Gabby proclaiming how much she loves her cat friends. While the animated artwork mimics the show, numerous hearts, sparkles, and backgrounds have been added to establish the Valentine theme. The color scheme is full of bright colors. Gabby is portrayed with tan skin and curly hair, just as she is on the show. The cats are various shades of nontraditional cat colors but are adorable regardless. Fans may notice there is no sequence showing Gabby shrinking, but the book appears to take place in her magic dollhouse. Overall, this is a Valentine-themed book on a kid-friendly level. VERDICT Except where the show is popular, this is a cute but unnecessary purchase.-Sarah Sieg
